Senator John McCain is such a hypocrite — total flip-flop on his position on the military's stance towards gays and lesbians in their service to our country. Yes, the same good senator who on October 18, 2006 while taping a studio Hardball discussion with Chris Mathews said that it was his opinion the "don't ask/don't tell" policy should be repealed, because at that time, the military leadership had said so.
Now that the Obama administration is taking up this matter and suggesting that yes, it should be repealed, this has-been Republican hack says we should leave the policy in place. Slight miscalculation Mr. McCain, opening your mouth before the Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, endorsed the repeal. Oh yeah, so did Secretary of Defense Gates.
So c'mon McCain, don't be an asshole. Decide what you want to be, a leader of the people or a washed up, out-of-touch politician. Because your stripes are showing.
